Dr. Silvana Leit

Biographical Sketch:

Silvana Leit joined Nimbus in 2015 and is currently Executive Director at Nimbus in Cambridge, MA. She brings 25+ years of experience in medicinal chemistry, she worked on a variety of target classes to progress drug discovery programs from phenotypic screen through target identification/validation to development candidate.

Throughout her tenure, she has driven discovery efforts spanning phenotypic screening, target identification and validation, and the progression of development candidates across oncology, CNS disorders, metabolic diseases, and inflammation. Her efforts have contributed to multiple clinical candidates, underscoring her proven capabilities in shepherding therapeutic programs from early discovery through candidate selection.

Prior to joining Nimbus, she has leadership roles as medicinal chemist at Galenea Corp and Methylgene Inc.

She is passionate about the strategic application of computational chemistry tools in drug discovery, a reflection of Nimbus’s ethos in precision small-molecule design and structure-based discovery.

She received her MSc in chemistry and her Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis from Buenos Aires University, Argentina. Her post-doctoral work was at Ohio State University under the supervision of Professor Leo Paquette. She is co-author/co-inventor of peer-reviewed publications, patent applications, and presentations at major scientific meetings.
