American citizens will need A valid U.S. passport on the date of entry (we recommend The passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Brazil), with at least one blank page required for entry stamp. U.S. citizens do not need a visa if they are traveling to Brazil for tourism, business, transit, artistic or sport activities, with no intention of establishing residence.

For European citizens

British nationals and European Union citizens can normally enter Brazil without a visa as a tourist. The passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Brazil.

You will need to demonstrate that you have enough money for the duration of your stay, provide details of your accommodation and evidence of return or onward travel. Make sure your passport is stamped. If it is not, you may be fined on departure.
